# The Pure Language

> ThePureLanguage.com is a free online Chinese-English-Pinyin translation service that displays results word-by-word in three lines (Chinese characters, Pinyin romanization with tone marks, and English meanings) so learners can see how each character maps to its sound and meaning.

The site is operated as a free, ad-supported public resource. Translation is powered by an in-house dictionary covering Simplified and Traditional Chinese, with Microsoft Azure Translator as a fallback for entries not in the dictionary. There is no account required and no character limit beyond 800 characters per translation request.
