The English Exam
Last term I failed my English exam.
上个学期我的英语考试没及格。
I was surprised, because I studied every evening.
我很吃惊，因为我每天晚上都学习。
I read the textbook again and again.
我把课本读了一遍又一遍。
I knew the grammar rules very well.
语法规则我记得很清楚。
But in the listening part I understood almost nothing.
但是听力部分我几乎什么都听不懂。
My teacher looked at my paper and said one thing.
老师看了我的卷子，只说了一句话。
"You are studying English. You are not using it."
“你在学英语，但是你没有在用它。”
That evening I did not open the textbook.
那天晚上我没有打开课本。
Instead I watched a short video and listened to a song.
我看了一个短视频，听了一首歌。
I did this every day for three months.
我这样做了三个月。
In the next exam my listening score was almost twice as high.
下次考试我的听力分数几乎翻了一倍。
