纪念日的惊喜
上个星期五是我们的结婚纪念日。
Last Friday was our wedding anniversary.
早上我给妈妈打电话，她只说了几句话就挂了。
In the morning I rang my mum; she said a couple of words and hung up.
我想：她一定忘了。
I thought: she must have forgotten.
到了公司，同事们也没有跟我说纪念日快乐。
At the office, none of my colleagues said happy anniversary either.
那天下午我很不高兴。
I felt low all that afternoon.
下班以后，我慢慢地走回家。
After work I walked home slowly.
我打开门，房间里很黑。
I opened the door and the room was dark.
忽然，灯亮了，我的朋友们都在！
Suddenly the lights came on and all my friends were there!
桌子上有一个很大的蛋糕和很多礼物。
There was a big cake on the table and a lot of presents.
大家一起给我们唱歌，我差点儿哭了。
Everyone sang to us and I nearly cried.
妈妈也来了。她说：“我怎么会忘呢？”
Mum came too. She said, "How could I forget?"
