Printable Chinese Flashcards Maker (Foldable)
Cut along the solid lines, fold on the dashed line: hanzi outside, pinyin + meaning inside. Eight cards per page, from any HSK level or your own lesson list.
- Pick a word source: an HSK level and word count, or paste your own lesson list.
- Decide whether the back shows pinyin above the meaning (recommended for the first pass) or the meaning alone.
- Print, cut each row along the solid lines, then fold on the dashed center line — the card stands on a desk like a tent, hanzi facing the student.
- Students quiz themselves or a partner: say the pronunciation and meaning, then unfold to check.
How do the foldable flashcards work?
Each printed row is one card: the hanzi on the left half, the pinyin and English meaning on the right. Cut the rows apart along the solid lines, then fold each card on the dashed center line. The result stands like a small tent — hanzi facing the student, answer hidden inside — with no glue or card stock needed.
How many flashcards fit on a page?
Eight cards per A4/Letter page, sized so the hanzi is readable across a desk. A 40-word HSK set prints in five pages, and print duplicates for pair work — the generator happily prints the same list twice.
Can I make flashcards for exactly the words in this week's lesson?
Yes — choose 'My own list' and paste the words, one per line. HSK 1–6 words auto-fill their pinyin and meaning; anything else can be written as 电脑, diànnǎo, computer.
Do you also have digital flashcards?
Yes — the site's free HSK flashcards (levels 1–6, with audio and quiz modes) cover the same official word lists online, so students can drill on a phone what you printed for class. These printable ones are for desks, homework folders and classrooms without screens.
