About this deck

Practise 24 words with a matching picture on every card. Name the object or word shown before checking the pinyin, then sort the cards into people and places, symptoms, injuries and objects. Compare the cough and sneeze pictures, or the rolled bandage and flat gauze, and explain which visual detail helps you remember each word. Use New shuffle for a second recall round and save confusing words for Review. The Body Parts deck helps you practise the body-word vocabulary separately.

Six care roles and places, eight words for feeling unwell, four injury words and six first-aid or pharmacy objects make this 24-card selection. Neutral figures, tools and settings identify doctor, nurse and dentist. The hospital is a large care building; the pharmacy is a shop with unbranded medicine containers. A thermometer beside a warm forehead cues fever without giving a numeric threshold. A hand near the mouth and short air strokes cue cough; a tissue and longer air burst cue sneeze. Cold is a person with a tissue, not a claim that one pictured symptom identifies an illness. Headache and toothache use a small location marker; stomachache shows a rain cloud with lightning over the belly; nausea shows a queasy face and an unsettled stomach. Injury pictures are non-graphic memory cues: a short cut, an ankle discomfort marker, separated bone shapes and a small scraped patch. Bandage is a roll, gauze a flat woven square, and the pharmacy objects have no brand, strength or dosage. The prescription is blank lines on a document, not a sample prescription. These cards teach words, not symptom interpretation or care instructions.

Think you know them? The Chinese Picture Quiz says a word and shows it in characters, and you tap its picture — these cards mixed with every other picture deck.
