Why paper, in 2026
Because the failure mode of a travel app is the same as the failure mode of a trip: it happens when the battery is flat, the roaming has stopped working, or you are underground. A folded sheet of A4 in your passport has none of those states. It is also the fastest possible interface — you point at the line.
Keep it short. Ticking all fourteen situations gives you a booklet nobody reads; three or four gives you a sheet you will actually use. If you only take one, take paying and mobile payment — it is the situation that most often goes wrong and the hardest one to mime.
