Restaurant & Menu Words Flashcards
Practise 24 restaurant words with pictures, Chinese, pinyin and English meanings. Name what is on the table, describe a taste, and save unfamiliar words before trying the ordering phrases.
About this deck
Practise 24 words with a matching picture on every card. Imagine sitting down for a meal: name the menu and five things on the table, then choose a taste word for a food you enjoy. Try saying each word before checking the pinyin. Save unfamiliar words, use New shuffle for another recall round, and continue to the restaurant ordering phrases to use the vocabulary in a conversation.
Three restaurant words, ten table objects, three end-of-meal words and eight taste words make this 24-card selection. The dining-room scene matches the dictionary's dining-hall sense. An empty bowl and plate teach containers; the long cloth napkin and tissue box distinguish the two napkin words. A bill on its own is the document; a hand giving payment shows settling it. Hands closing a food box show packing leftovers. Sugar cubes, salt, lemon, bitter melon and a chilli are memory cues for tastes, not new food-name cards. A satisfied diner represents tasty, a tasting spoon represents flavour, and a lightly seasoned bowl represents light food. Taste cannot be identified from a picture alone: check the sourced meaning. Dish names are practised in the Food deck; drinks are practised in the Drinks deck.
