What are radicals?
Chinese radicals (部首 bùshǒu) are the semantic components inside characters. For example, every water-related character (河 river, 海 ocean, 湖 lake) contains the water radical 氵. Learning radicals is the fastest way to guess the meaning of unknown characters.
