A resources page is the easiest page on any site to write badly, and the bad version is worth less than nothing: a list of links with a sentence each earns little, and Google assesses that kind of thing at the level of the whole domain. So this one is held to rules that the build actually enforces rather than to good intentions.

• Nothing here is ranked by what it pays. Every item earns the same small percentage of a sale, and the record that describes an item has nowhere to store a commission, a rate or a partner — so the ordering cannot vary with the money even if someone wanted it to.
• Every pick says what it does not do. A recommendation that concedes nothing has not been assessed, it has been advertised, and the build fails if that field is left empty.
• Where this site already does the job for free, the card says so and links there instead. That costs us the commission and it is still the better trade — a reader who stays is worth more to us than a reader who buys.
• No prices, no star ratings and no review counts anywhere. Those change daily, we have no licensed way to keep them current, and a stale figure on a page like this is worse than no figure at all. Cost is shown as a band.
• We have not tested every item personally and we do not pretend to have. These are the books and objects that come up repeatedly among self-learners, described honestly, with the caveats attached.
