送别
小雨要去另一个城市工作了。
Xiaoyu was leaving to work in another city.
我们认识四年了，从大学一年级开始就住在一个宿舍。
We'd known each other four years, sharing a dorm since our first year at university.
那天早上，我陪她去车站。
That morning I went with her to the station.
她的行李只有一个箱子和一个包。
Her luggage was one suitcase and one bag.
我说：“四年就这么点儿东西？”
I said, "Four years and that's all you've got?"
她笑着说：“重要的东西都带不走。”
She smiled and said, "The things that matter can't be packed."
车站里人很多，广播一直在响。
The station was crowded and the announcements kept coming.
我们站在那里，忽然都不知道说什么好。
We stood there and suddenly neither of us knew what to say.
四年里说了那么多话，最后十分钟反而说不出来。
Four years of talking, and in the last ten minutes we couldn't manage anything.
九点十分，她的车快开了。
At ten past nine her train was about to leave.
她抱了我一下，说：“别送了，回去吧。”
She hugged me and said, "Don't see me off any further — go back."
我说：“好，你保重。”
I said, "All right. Take care of yourself."
看着火车开走的时候，我才发现自己一直没说“再见”。
Watching the train pull out, I realised I'd never actually said goodbye.
也许是因为，我们都不觉得这是最后一次见面。
Perhaps because neither of us thought it was the last time we'd meet.
